Honestly, no one, but I hope they’ll appear in my city someday, because Novosibirsk is making people happy—and maybe they’ll suddenly travel to new cities)
Recently, in the Manulization chat, I demonstrated how you can create a convincing fake in 15 minutes—one that then cannot be scrubbed from the Internet for years. For the fake, a manul from a zoo in the city of Perth, Australia, was “created”: complete with a pedigree, brothers and sisters, photographs, and a description of its move to the other hemisphere. AI produced a convincing Manulization-style article in just a few minutes.
So there is at least one fake manul on the west coast 😹
I've managed to see one of the Smithsonian sisters (I believe Akar since reports say she's more likely to be out than Ceba), one of the Prospect Park pair (I originally thought it was Sarnai but now I believe it probably was Batu), and, as of last weekend, both of the Elmwood Park brothers Kasper and Reza! 💚💚
Maarja Liit,
And they say Mimi is very big) If that were so, her side or tail might not have fit inside the little house, and then she could have been seen. Conclusion: Mimi is small and fits completely inside the little house😀
A very interesting question! But so far I don’t know how to answer it other than “very many,” because Roman Paulovverified_filled and I have never kept count 🤔
Vika Malyshkoverified_filled,
Yes, I think it’s more than 100 but fewer than 200. But I’m not entirely sure :) We’ve really never counted. By the way, our to-do list includes a task for the website: a section featuring the zoos we’ve visited and the manuls we’ve seen—it’s coming soon!

Moscow zoo — 1. Timofey.
Leningrad zoo — 8. Aiden, Aksa, Batyr, Berk, Namika, Pepe, Sven and Shu.
Novosibirsk Zoo — 32 + 8 + 3. 32 are currently at Novosibirsk Zoo, 8 are currently at the Greens Zoological Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre, while Ginger*, Daughter of Adele b.2026 Ⅳ and Zelenogorsk are no longer with us.
Total: 1 + 8 + 32 + 8 + 3 = 1 + 40 + 11 = 52.
Only saw one which is Tai chi from the pueblo zoo
Pavel Burov, Wow that’s amazing!

I saw eight Leningraders; I really want to meet them again 🥺
sebbyusermanul, I suppose Roma and Vika have every chance of losing count and missing someone somewhere closer to the end of the first hundred 🙂
I've seen Lucy and Boris II. in Budapest 😊
Pavel Burov, Man, I’m on holiday to Japan from down under. No manuls down there
And I spent half the day walking around Korkeasaari in the pouring rain, returning to the manul enclosure, but no one ever showed up!
sebbyusermanul, aaaaa 🙂

Pavel Burov, OMG! I honestly don’t know how to count them all! 😮 Now that’s a challenge! (I’m thinking I really should have kept a list, actually 😄)

I think there are definitely a hundred! 🤓

No wonder. Even I lost count and recalculated three times using different methods 😹
Oh, maybe this can be added to the profile :)
