this is an original chiikawa character i drew a while ago, thought I'd share it here!
I combined my love for the anime with my love for these amazing animals, using chiikawa as a base for the drawing! I've seen many original characters of different animals but never a Pallas's cat. They don't have a name yet :P
Todays star is the one and only Adele!
From the parents Karaganda and Aisha in Novosibirsk Zoo, Adele was born on June 7th 2020. She has big and striking eyes with a huge, fluffy body. Adele has 5 siblings; Achi, Zara, Drachun, Dersu and Altai. She also has 6 kittens with them being Kitten of Adele b.2026 I, II, III, IV, V and VI.
Adele became famous after a video during mating season of her and Zelenogorsk showed her being gentle at first, but later showed Adele to be very practical. She had chased Zelenogorsk out of his own enclosure to claim his own house for herself.

I'm back, after a while
I didn't know what to post, but today I've made a new discovery (atleast for me)
I was scrolling through manul gifs and stuff, then I found this one. This one caught my eye
Through multiple searches, I came across this Chinese animated series called 'Here Comes the Snow King' or 'The Snow King Arrives', and this particular manul is a tough bounty hunter that helps the Snow King in his adventures (yay! he's a main character!)
Because I don't know Chinese, and because I live in the West, there is little to no information about this show available other than a few subbed episodes—which seems to be either not well translated or totally translated because there are errors in English subs.
Someone asked for it to be done with the Yerevan Trinity!
Decided to do it, why not.
Decided to do another one in a different style too, why not.
Just imagine it. Three entrances/exits instead of one. You can give mom or your sister a little bop on the head with your paw through the window. New possibilities and a new field for research.
The kittens took environmental enrichment into their own paws, and such success right away!

This may seem like a silly question, but I’m curious: what does a manul’s fur feel like to the touch? Soft or coarse? Is there any information about that?
Today, on Saturday, September 5, 2026, I had the chance to see Eva and all five of her kittens together in the enclosure. I quickly snapped photos of all the minuls as best I could. They still haven’t been given names, and their sex hasn’t been determined, so the photos are (for now?) without captions. These shots clearly have no artistic value, but as documentary evidence of their growing up, they may come in handy.
A lovely ginger child. The sunniest one, and, as it seemed to me, the most spirited.

This time I decided to make a version with Chinese manuls.
But I may have missed at least one manul 100% (Bayara or N6). I was only counting on the zoo.
For today's beauty, it's Aisha!
From the family of Timofey and Lastochka, Aisha was born on April 21st 2016 in Novosibirsk Zoo, sadly passing on December 10th 2020. She was 4 years old at the time of her passing. Aisha had 5 siblings; Nazar, Muztau, Bartok, Zoe and Mania. She also had 6 children with them being Achi, Adele, Zara, Drachun, Dersu and Altai.

Todays grumpy feline is Grey!
He was born on April 18 2025 in the family of Zelenogorsk and Mia. He was named similarly to Ginger, being named after the name of his coat. Grey currently lives in Novosibirsk Zoo. He has 8 siblings; Ginger, Goroshinka, Snezhinka, Marik, Snezhana, Son of Mia 2022 III, Daugher of Mia 2022 IV and Bayun.

I visited Kobe Animal Kingdom a few days ago.
At the nearest station, Keisan Kagaku Center, you can see the poster of the Kobe minuls right under Ootani-san!
Then, I entered the zoo. It was at just 10:00 a.m.
After watching sand cats, flamingos, etc, I entered the Asian Forest where manuls live.
Mama-Az and her minuls were in the right enclosure.
Yesterday, I was able to watch Naim undergoing husbandry training.

The Elmwood Park Zoo Instagram account has been posting tons of videos of Kasper and Reza that people should definitely check out if they haven't seen them. The boys are full of character, and they seem to have very dedicated and caring keepers!
(Also I should be taking another trip to visit them at the end of the month, and I can't wait!)

Being born in April 18 2025, Ginger is from the family of Zelenogorsk and Mia. At his birth, Ginger had a nice ginger coat on him, and thats why he was named Ginger. Sadly, he passed away in November 2025 being 6 months old at his passing. Ginger had 8 siblings; Grey, Goroshinka, Snezhinka, Shezhana, Marik, Son of Mia 2022 III, Daughter of Mia 2022 IV and Bayun.
