I'm so done.

I'm going to be missing for a while, possibly detained. I can't stand by and do nothing.

Recently, I have gotten news that an AI data center will be built in my county, which already has terrible air quality and droughts, theres a heatwave here too! OVER 100° FAHRENHEIT|~38° CELSIUS. An AI data center will only worsen those conditions. It will raise up the prices and ruin our water, and I already live in a low income neighborhood. I will try to resolve this peacefully, contacting officials and more.

this is my last post until then, no updates until the project is cancelled.

Here's my last piece of artwork.

I'm sorry this is a drastic change, but I can't calm down without writing about it, hopefully the power of my community can save us.

Mini B has his official name now. There was a voting about his name, and most of the people voted for Borisz. But because the Budapest Zoo already had a manul with this name (Borisz lived with us between 2013 and 2018), the little boy received the name Borisz II.  (I might will buy a little crown for him 😁)

So, let me introduce you His Little Majesty with his beautiful different coloured, healed eyes:

Friends, we’d like to draw your attention to the fact that today each minul from Port Lympne has received its own “passport,” as well as a personal photo and video gallery on the website. All the photos have already been identified and assigned to the individual galleries of each kitten.

An unforgettable encounter!

I went to the zoo. I thought I’d look at the animals and go home. But I came away feeling as if I had left a piece of myself there. Because of one manul.
To be honest, at first he seemed perfectly ordinary. Small, fluffy, sitting on a rock as if he didn’t care about people at all. Around him, more "spectacular" predators were running about: tigers, lions, lynxes. And for some reason I kept looking at him more and more.
A manul doesn’t try to be liked. He doesn’t pose. He doesn’t beg for attention. He behaves as if humanity exists somewhere far away and has absolutely nothing to do with him. And there is something incredibly powerful in that.
He has the funniest face I’ve ever seen. Permanently displeased. As if he woke up five minutes ago and is already tired of everything going on. And those eyes... round, alert, alive. Not angry. More cautious, really. As if every second he is assessing the world and deciding: "Is it even worth getting involved?"
And his fur... You can’t tell from photos. He looks like just a fluffy cat. No. He’s a real ball of the thickest fur. It seems that if the wind blows, he won’t freeze even where people wouldn’t survive an hour. So dense that you want to reach out and touch it... though you understand: better not.
Manuls are amazing in general. They don’t run around for no reason. They don’t fuss. They don’t make unnecessary movements. They sit, watch, and sometimes lazily move their paws. And you get the feeling that they’re the ones who found the right pace for life, while the rest of us are all rushing somewhere far too much.
What really got me was the way he yawned.
A perfectly ordinary yawn. But so slow, so sincere, as if he said with his whole being:
"Your deadlines, traffic jams, loans, and the news... that’s all very interesting, of course. But I think I’ll sleep a little longer."
And you simply can’t help smiling.
I caught myself standing by his enclosure for about twenty minutes. People came, took photos, and moved on. But I kept watching. Because every time he did something new: tilt his head a little, squint, place a paw in a funny way, ruffle his fur, look straight at you as if he knew more about you than you’d like.
There are beautiful animals.
There are majestic ones.
There are intelligent ones.
And then there is the manul, somehow... real.
Without any desire to please. Without theater. Without showiness.
He simply lives the way he thinks is right.
Perhaps that is exactly why he is so easy to grow attached to.
I went home with my phone stuffed full of photos of the same fluffy grump. And a couple of hours later I caught myself reading articles about him, watching videos, finding out where else I could see manuls.
A strange thing.
Sometimes one look into those round, attentive eyes is enough to unexpectedly find your favorite animal. And then for a long time you keep catching yourself thinking: "I wonder how that fluffy, grumpy philosopher is doing now?"

P.S.: The author of this wonderful note allowed me to copy their text and post it here anonymously. They offered to provide the photos themselves. But I don’t have anything suitable. Maybe Roman will find what’s needed in his archive.

With love for manul kittens, Lena ❤️

There's no Minecraft mods with Pallas cats.... so I made my own

For some reason, Mojang, nor it's community, has introduced Pallas cats to the game—the only one that's good is Koopas Critters, although it's only available for Java, and not bedrock...

That's where I come in—with no prior experience whatsoever, but it's the thought that counts, right?

Since this is my first time making a mod from scratch, it will take a while, and once i do finish... I'll add manul icons as skins or even separate entities!

And don't worry! I will make them tamable, just to fill that manul shaped hole in your hearts.

What is your favorite manul pair?

I decided to write my first post in honor of Family, Love, and Fidelity Day. It is celebrated in Russia today; yesterday in Japan was Tanabata, also a holiday for lovers, and even though February 14 is still far away, I’m going to say it anyway)

Which manuls deserve to be on Valentine’s cards? The Siberians are great, but among them it’s hard to single out the best pair. They are more like dancing the quadrille — a dance in which partners are meant to be swapped. And that makes sense: if the other manuls in other zoos had a choice, they would behave the same way. And it’s good for genetic diversity.

Maybe the St. Petersburg Sven and Namika are the standard of love that doesn’t fade with the years? Or the younger generation in the form of Shu and Pepe?

In Japan, at different times, the flagships of love were Lev and Shar, Klen and Primula, Bor and Polly, and now Nar and Az.

Or maybe you prefer the newcomers from Yerevan: the red-red-freckled Mano and Nano? Let’s see how they do!

Or do the incredibly sensual shots of Princess and Spay move you to squeals and purring? Spay is, of course, a handsome Frenchman, but he got such a star of a girl that, sorry, buddy, but now you’re just “Princess’s husband.”

And what about the incredible prima Mimi and her phlegmatic, calm husband Arkas, who is still the best, the only one, and the one for her?

The happily married Namu and Atlan?

Akiko, who finally waited for his Duchess.

And what is your favorite manul pair?
