Bayar—the charming Pallas's cat, who used to live in Ueno Zoological Gardens.
He was born in the spring of 1998 in the wild in Qinghai, China, his parents are unknown. Read more about the travels of Bayar.
Unfortunately Bayar is not with us anymore. He passed away on April 23, 2012, he was fourteen years old.
Pallas's cats rarely live more than 5 years in the wild. In zoos under human care Pallas's cats live longer. Bayar lived a long and happy manul-life in comfort and being loved.
There are two versions of its origin might be found in open sources: Shanghai Zoo and Qinghai Province, China. It is also not clear whether he was born in the wild or in a zoo.
