Atlan and his grandpa Temuchin: new discoveries in a great manul family tree! 🤓

We present to you the pedigree of the handsome Atlan from Port Lympne, tracing his grandfather Temuchin’s line all the way back to his wild-born ancestors! 🤓🌳
We added several “historical” manuls to the website, added the basic info about all the manuls in this subtree, and added the missing relations.
Let’s start with Atlan’s great-grandmother and great-grandfather — the parents of the grumpy handsome Temuchin:
🩷 mother Kamen (in Russian her name sounds like „stone“)
🩵 father Dimitriy.
🪨 Kamen, together with four other kittens, was born on May 21, 2004, at the English zoo Howletts, to the manuls Qisu and Orsk. Two of them, unfortunately, died while still tiny kittens, but Kamen’s two brothers Kagan and Vachir not only grew up and became full-fledged manuls, but also made a huge contribution to the European manul population!
👑 Kagan became the father of two great European matriarchs: Alula (She is, by the way, Shu’s great-grandmother!) and Frida (the great-great-grandmother of the famous fluffy artist Evi from Niabi Zoo!).
⛈️ And Vachir — drumroll! — is Pabu’s father! And Pabu is the father of the unforgettable world fluffy star Polly, as well as an entire bouquet of prickly fluffy dandelions: the luxurious Calypso, the beautiful Melissa, the charming Borsika, the incredible Thomas O’Malley, and many other floofs!
So, Atlan is the 2nd cousin once removed of Polly! What a twist! 😜
And now let’s find out who Orsk and Qisu are — Atlan’s great-great-grandfather and great-great-grandmother!
🏔️ Orsk is a fluffy Tuvan wildling, born in 2000–2002 in the steppes of Tuva, in Russia. At first he came up at Seversk Zoo, from there at Novosibirsk Zoo, and soon after he set off for his new home in England — Howletts Zoo.
There he met the fluffy Finnish beauty Qisu (we don’t know the correct stress, but among ourselves we use the variant "Qisú").
😻 Qisú, together with six other kittens, was born on May 5, 1999, at Korkeasaari Zoo in Helsinki, to the manuls Pushkin and Pavlova (both were brought from the wild in Russia).
All the kittens in this litter were given names beginning with the letter “Q” (at Korkeasaari Zoo, each year corresponds to a specific letter of the Latin alphabet: all cubs born at the zoo during the year are named with that letter).
Qisú’s sisters were named Queen and Qilli, and the brothers were Qissa, Qolli, Qatz (previously known to you on the site under the unofficial name Padre*) and Qatti. Yes, yes, that very same incomparable Qatti who lived at Zurich Zoo and is known to many manulovers for his devastatingly charming grumpiness and sternness!
🩶 Qatz (previously Padre) moved to Italy while still young, to La Torbiera, where he lived for eight years and, over the course of his life, managed to become the father of many kittens. He is also the grandfather of the charming and unique Pazzo and Penelope, the great-grandfather of the beauty Namuu (Poppy), and the great-great-grandfather of an entire scattering of kittens, including the grumpy fluffy little fellow Bat-Erdene. And this year Qatz also got great-great-great-granddaughters — dragon-minuls born at Banham Zoo! 🔥😃
So it turns out that Atlan is the great-great-grand-nephew of Qatty! Wow!
Now we know the full maternal pedigree of Atlan’s grandfather Temuchin, all the way back to his wild ancestors! 🙌
As for the paternal line, we’ll tell you about that later: we still need to clarify some details 🤓
