Miminuls from Korkeasaari Zoo!
We have wonderful news from Finland: three kittens are growing up at Korkeasaari Zoo, born to the family of Mimi and Arkas! 🥰

The zoo staff first suspected that Mimi had kittens back in early May, when she began spending a lot of time inside her little houst (the nest box). Later, she was seen carrying one kitten in her mouth, but the den was only checked in June and that’s when it was confirmed that there were three little miminuls!

All this time, Mimi has been carefully raising her kittens in the den and, like a true mamanul, made it very clear: “Thank you, no help needed, I’ve got this.” Whenever the keepers entered the enclosure area, she immediately slipped into the house to protect her little ones.

Recently, the kittens had their first brief health check while Mimi was outside having breakfast. They were weighed, photographed for identification, examined by a veterinarian, given deworming medication, and microchipped. It currently looks like the trio includes one boy and, most likely, two girls.

And among these little ones, there is a true tiger-minul! 🐯

This is what we call kittens with an unusual coat feature, when dark stripes are clearly visible on the back. Interestingly, Mimi and Arkas have already had a similar kitten before — Prinsessa, who now lives at Prague Zoo.
The little tiger-girl has also been missing part of one ear since birth. But this doesn’t seem to stop her at all from being active, cheerful, and confidently exploring the world around her. This tiny manul pirate is already stealing hearts! 🥹

This is already the third litter for Mimi and Arkas and their largest one so far. First, the pair had one kitten, then two kittens in their second litter, and now three fluffy miminuls at once!
Earlier this week, Egor K visited Korkeasaari Zoo and was lucky enough to film Mimi and the little kittens. Hurry up and read his post about visiting Mimi and the Mimimuls at Korkeasaari Zoo!
The kittens’ older siblings already live at zoos in Prague, Paris, and Nordens Ark in Sweden. When the new babies grow older, at around 8–9 months of age, they will also move to other EAZA zoos, where future breeding partners will be selected for them as part of the European conservation breeding programme.
Korkeasaari Zoo also helps protect Pallas’s cats in the wild. Funds raised during the zoo’s annual Night of the Cats conservation event are directed to the Pallas’s Cat International Conservation Alliance (PICA). These projects help study manuls in Central Asia, protect their habitats, and involve local communities in the conservation of this little-known wild cat.
Congratulations to Korkeasaari Zoo, Mimi, Arkas, and all manulovers in Finland on the arrival of three little miminuls! We wish the kittens strong health, a fluffy childhood, and many big manul adventures ahead ❤️

Hooray! It’s official now.
My poor heart. Ginger manuls in Yerevan. The second Tigromanulya😱. What am I to do now? How am I supposed to tear myself in two?
What a mischievous little striped cutie🥰 Beware, mice, your doom is growing by the hour, not by the day💪🗿
Polina was right, Tigromanulya is a girl! 🤗🤗🤗
Mimi and Arkas did a great job; good health to the whole family!
jetan, Flip a coin. If it’s heads, split lengthwise, and if it’s tails — crosswise. That’s how I always do it.
A true otocolobus, that is, an "ugly" ear. She’s going to be a one-of-a-kind girl.
Mimi — many believed in you!!! You didn’t let them down, well done. A mother for the third time! And Arkas, he’s like a shadow hero)
that tigormanul its acctualy prinsessa when she was a baby!
also these images remembered me this photo of her
How cool! Korkeasaari is a forge of the most unusual and "sad" manuls (that is, tiger-manuls 😁)!
And I like how Mimi adds one kitten each time — well, that’s a very sensible approach! 😃👌🏻
Congratulations to the staff of Korkeasaari Zoo on the fluffy addition, and to all manul lovers everywhere!
The year 2026 is simply incredibly generous with minuls! Just WOW!
It seems this tiger-manul Bezushkova is a future star! Already in love with her! 💘
I was scared at first when the news disappeared; I thought it hadn’t been confirmed...
Now we can breathe again!
It’s good to be a fluffy manul: no one will even notice whether you’ve put on weight or not, whether you have a little belly or not. Mimi gave everyone a surprise! A triple one, whichever way you look at it.
And let them not say that Mimi ate her husband; she and her husband clearly live in perfect harmony!
The little ones are simply adorable!

I, too, have chosen her as my favourite. <3
partyontheobjective, Yeeees! 🤝In my opinion, she is the fluffy diamond of this manul kitten season!
Wonderful little ones were born to the mysterious pair Mimi and Arkas! Each is unique in their own way, but their expressions turned out to be their trademark sad ones )
