Pazzo, the sweetest of boys, in Łódź, is currently not in his enclosure, but in a vet clinic, undergoing a treatment for a flare up of FHV.
His keeper is assuring me he's getting better, and he'll be back in his enclosure in two weeks!
I've also been assured that he finally lost all his matted fur and is going through the Fluffening again!
Warsaw Zoo in today's instagram post announced the awful news.
Jessie passed away due to pneumonia.
She was 10, and her passing left me heartbroken.
Jessie was very special to me, not only because she was my local girl, but also because she was such a cutie and so elusive! It was a joy waiting for her and trying to catch a glimpse.
Hunt well on the celestial steppe.
According to Warsaw Zoo, Jessie is enjoying her time away from the crowds. There are no plans of moving her while the new, giant Polar Bear enclosure is being built.
According to their instagram post, Jessie is doing well and her time in a people-free zone of the zoo is well earned and good for her well being.
They also mention, that she's not the youngest girl, so a stress-free holiday will be very much to her benefit. I can't help but agree!
In the meantime, we got a new beautiful pic of Jessie, courtesy of the zoo!
Today, Mimi's children, three beautiful babies, had their names revealed by Korkeasaari, in this instagram post.
The stripey girl's name is Saimi, which is an old Finnish name.
The stripy boy's name is Sten, which means "stone" in Swedish.
And the big girl is Saga, which, of course, means a story or legend.
This post was edited, to correct the names of the girls, as the zoo definitively stated which is which.

Good and bad news coming from Warsaw zoo!
Good: the work on the big polar bear enclosure has begun!
Bad: the whole area where the enclosure will be is fenced off. Which means, Jessie's enclosure is unreachable.
I reached out to the zoo for information on whether Jessie will be moved somewhere else, and when, but since we are experiencing a severe heatwave right now, most work in the zoo that isn't focused on making the animals as comfy as possible is halted.
However, when heatwave passes, Jessie will most probably be moved somewhere else, where she will be available for visiting... provided she chooses to show up :)
Three precious babies were born in Niabi Zoo to Eevie and Haruto!
Bożenka is safe and sound and round back in her enclosure in the zoo.
Unfortunately, since the eyes of the entire country were on Bożenka for 3 days, netizens subjected her to fat shaming, and zoo to scrutiny, again.
Tired of people who know nothing sharing their unsolicited opinions, Poznań New Zoo decided to release this educational graphic on social media:
I provide an auto translated image below, it's pretty decent, except it should say "Internet ruled: too fat!"
