Let us introduce you to the endearing Eevie the Pallas's cat. She lives in Niabi Zoo.
She's two years old, born on April 7, 2022 in Columbus Zoo and Aquarium to the family of Moose the Pallas's cat and Tiina the Pallas's cat. Read more about the travels of Eevie.
In her home zoo, the Columbus Zoo, out fluffy beauty was given two names: the first, Finnish, is Eevi, and the second, Tibetan, is Daod, which means “Moonlight” (“da” — “Moon,” “od” — “light”). In her new home, Niabi Zoo, she is called Eevi, spelled as “Eevie”. Read more about the names of Eevie.

In the spring of 2023 Eevie moved from Columbus Zoo and Aquarium to Niabi Zoo.
Naming history of Eevie the Pallas's cat
Usually a manul has one name throughout its life, but on rare occasions name might be changed. For example, this can happen when a manul is moving from one institution to another—the new institution may give a manul a new name due to cultural, regional or other reasons.
In Columbus Zoo and Aquarium she was given her first name—Eevi. This Finnish name was given to her in honor of her grandfather's origins, a native of Finland.
In November of 2022 in Columbus Zoo and Aquarium she was given her name Daod, which she is known by to this day. This Tibetan name means “moonlight” in Tibetan: “da” means “the Moon”, “od” means “light”. This name was given by Zoo donors Jennifer Massanova and Lou Von Thaer.
