Back to see the gang at Lakeland Wildlife Oasis!
On Tuesday 14th July I took a drive over to see how Bat-Erdene, Altai and Khutga are settling in! They did not disappoint!
All asleep when I first arrived (another very warm morning) but that soon changed (for two of them, at least!). I had a very lucky catch when a keeper came to clean them out, offer chicks and...drum roll....give them a ball pit to play with! Hilarity ensued!
I'm pleased to say they all seem to be doing great, and now with some help I am a little better at identifying them - Bat seems to be the most confident of the trio, always playing hide and seek with me around the enclosure and keeping his eye on me, and had no fear of the keeper entering.

Altai is second, he had a long bath inside his hut but then did decide to come out and investigate lunch, then retreated again for another nap.

And little Khutga stayed hidden inside his cave the whole time - clearly a shy boy! Occasionally opening an eye to see if I had left yet.

Please enjoy these photos and videos of the trio! 😻😻😻 🐾
A fun morning at Lakeland ☀️😻

Gorgeous boys! Thank you so much!
Oh, balls! Wow, how cats love them)
I love their different personalities! Shy little Khutga versus bold Bat-Erdene. 💚
Thank you for the update. I'm happy to see the brothers settling in so well!!
Bat-Erdene is wonderful. Such a nice little guy 🤗🥰
What handsome boys 😍 Thank you for the photo, you can never have too many little manuls 🙏💕
Wow! A ball pit is something really original!
I really liked Khutga’s photo. Such a cute proportion of eyes and ears.
Thank you!
Thank you so much for this wonderful manul trip story and lovely photos❤️ The boys are so very handsome🥰 And I'm so happy for you that you've seen all three of them!
helga ingvar, So a funny language quirk: "Oh, balls!" is sometimes used as an expression of mild dismay in English. (It's not referring to literal balls though. 🤭)
How cool they are! 😻
Thank you so much for the wonderful report, Hannah! ❤️
It’s amazing that, despite the fact that the brothers grew up together and in the same conditions, they’re still so different!
To be honest, I used to think (when they were little kittens) that the bravest of them would be Altai, but it turned out to be Bat-Erdene! I adore him; he has a very memorable, interesting look: he’s like a little fluffy, businesslike man 😁
And Khutga is a little fluffy homebody 🥰
They came up with a very interesting ball game for the manuls at the zoo! 👏🏻 I’ve never seen anything like it before! (I’ll have to show it to the people at the Leningrad Zoo; they also love coming up with different activities for their manuls 👍🏼)
Thank you for the wonderful photos, Hannah! 🤗
