Marimo—the loveliest Pallas's cat, who used to live in Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens.
He was born on March 31, 2001 in Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens to the family of No6 the Pallas's cat and No5 the Pallas's cat.
Unfortunately Marimo is not with us anymore. He passed away on May 20, 2010, he was nine years old.
Pallas's cats rarely live more than 5 years in the wild. In zoos under human care Pallas's cats live longer. Marimo lived a long and happy manul-life in comfort and being loved.
