Daughter of No5 b. 2002—the loveliest Pallas's cat, who used to live in Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens.
She was born on March 20, 2002 in Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens to the family of No6 the Pallas's cat and No5 the Pallas's cat.
Unfortunately this manul is not with us anymore. She passed away on April 17, 2002, she was twenty-eight days old.
One of the biggest problems of keeping Pallas's cats in captivity is the high mortality rate among Pallas's kittens. They are most vulnerable during their first year of life. In the first year of life mortality rate among Pallas's kittens in zoos varies from 50% to 70%. In the wild mortality rate varies from 70% to 90%. Unfortunately Daughter of No5 b. 2002 didn't survive the first year of his life.
