Let us introduce you to the endearing Berel’ the Pallas's cat. She lives in Novosibirsk Zoo.
She's nine months old, born on April 26, 2025 in Novosibirsk Zoo to the family of Achi the Pallas's cat and Snezhinka the Pallas's cat.
While their official names have not yet been announced, we call all of Snezhinka’s kittens born in 2025 after rivers that begin at the foot of mountain Belukha — the sacred mountain of Altai and the highest peak in Siberia. Belukha means “White/Snowy Mountain,” which symbolically echoes Snezhinka’s name, which means “a snowflake” in Russian.
Belaya Berel' is one of the most stunning, picturesque rivers of Eastern Kazakhstan, with a remarkable milky-white color that poetically echoes the light, gentle appearance of this fluffy girl.
