In short, keeping up with manul affairs has become much easier! Here’s how it all works 👇

👤 All notifications are by your avatar

Click your avatar in the website header — it is now home to the notification center.

The number on your avatar shows how many new notifications you haven’t seen yet.

You’ll receive:

• replies to your comments and mentions of you;
• comments on your posts, photos, and videos;
• reactions to your posts;
• new followers;
• and, of course, news about the manuls and zoos you follow.

The website will try not to make you sort through things you’ve already seen: if you open a post, photo, or video, the related notifications will automatically be marked as “read.”

And not just manuls! A “Follow” button has appeared on the pages of manuls, zoos, camera traps, and all manulovers.

Click it, and the website will let you know about new posts, photos, videos, and events in the life of that manul, zoo, or manulover.

🔔 Want to follow a discussion? There’s a bell!

A bell has appeared above the comments on posts, photos, and videos.

Click it, and the website will notify you about new comments in that discussion.

If someone replies directly to you, the website will notify you in any case. It will notify only those who have enabled the bell about other new comments.

You don’t need to subscribe to your own posts: the website will automatically notify you about new comments on your posts, photos, and videos.

👀 New comments are now visible right in the feed

Post and news cards remember what you have already read – the title font of a read post becomes less bold.

If something interesting starts happening there after your visit and new comments appear, the title will become bold again, and a small dot will appear next to the comments icon.

📲 Push notifications

Manulization can now send notifications directly to your phone or computer, even when you are not on the website.

But we don’t want to greet you at the door with a huge “ALLOW NOTIFICATIONS?!” window, so the website will not ask you anything the very first time you visit.

The option to enable push notifications will appear when it is appropriate — for example, after you leave a comment or open the notifications menu.

You can always enable them manually in the notification settings.

🍎 There is one special consideration for iPhone: push notifications work only for a website added to the Home Screen.

To do this, open Manulization in Safari:

While you are on the website, push notifications will not arrive — why distract you with a notification about something you can already see right on the website?

If an important push notification does not reach you or remains unread, Manulization can remind you about it by email.

Missed events will be collected in a single email:

• no more than once an hour;
• a maximum of three such emails per day.

💌 The weekly manul roundup!

Once a week, Manulization can send you an email with the most interesting things that have happened in recent days and that you have not yet had a chance to see.

It may include:

• news;
• posts;
• photos;
• videos;
• events from the lives of manuls.

First and foremost, the roundup will be guided by your subscriptions and your interests.

And if nothing truly interesting has been found for you that week — then there will be no email.

⚙️ Everything can be customized

Click your avatar and select “Notification settings.”

There you will find six groups:

• replies and mentions;
• comments on your posts;
• reactions and followers;
• comments in discussions you have subscribed to;
• new posts, photos, and videos;
• animal events.

You can disable any group.

Then you will no longer receive push notifications or emails for it, while the notifications themselves will remain only in the notification center on the website, so you will not be able to lose them.

There, you can also choose the language of emails and disable the weekly manul roundup.

And, as expected, every email includes an unsubscribe link.
