Naim's husbandry training, stress-free health check
Yesterday, I was able to watch Naim undergoing husbandry training.
I'm uploading the video here, even though the footage is a bit unclear.
While he eats meat, his body is checked via palpation. His heartbeat is monitored with a stethoscope. He practices for procedures like injections and blood draws.
Then, he undergoes palpation again. Because of his advanced age, he receives thorough check-ups.
The veterinarians and keepers at Ueno Zoo take excellent care of the Pallas's cats; I trust them completely😊

The enclosure where Naim stays is designed to show visitors how the animals behave at night; consequently, it is kept dark during the day. Red light allows humans to view the animals in the darkness without affecting the animals' vision.
At night, bright lights are turned on. It is an environment where the day-night cycle is reversed.

I wonder how soft his floof is. Despite his age, his fur still looks very nice so I suspect he feels very fluffy and soft.

Their enclosures are smaller than the floor space of our apartments; today we saw three of them: one had completely huddled into a corner, the second kept pacing around the enclosure, clearly stressed, and Naim was walking in circles like house cats do before they die
