Morning is always the best time to see manuls, so I'd go right for the opening.

Alexandra Frýdl, Oh good to know, though I had great success earlier this year when I showed up at the very opening. Loved Ostrava zoo. I think the rope curtains are such a good addition!
partyontheobjective, Yes, the morning is fine. But I haven't met Pluto yet in the morning. That's only for the evening. Do you meet him ?
I suppose our knowledge of Chemnitz is already of limited use — we were there when Pema was still alive.
The manuls live there in a cozy little nook with other small cats. Near the enclosures there are comfortable benches where it’s pleasant to wait for the manuls to appear. Next door is the keepers’ room and a restroom, and across the path there are snack stalls where you can grab a bite.
We came to the zoo in the morning, almost at opening time, but if memory serves, Pema was fed closer to noon.
Every day the keeper went into her enclosure several times for cleaning and checks, so I think you’ll be able to ask the keeper when feeding time is and when the best time is to see the manuls.

Alexandra Frýdl, I checked our videos from Chemnitz, and there they fed Pemu at around 4 p.m., and also cleaned her indoor den at about the same time 😉
