Hide is moving in to Grusha!
Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens has announced that Hide, a young male manul, will be transferred to Asahiyama Zoo on June 10, 2026.
Hide was born at Higashiyama Zoo on May 26, 2025, as one of three kittens — Nobu, Hide, and Yasu. Their birth was especially meaningful, marking the zoo’s first successful Pallas’s cat breeding in 23 years.
We wish Hide all the manul happiness in his new home at Asahiyama Zoo!

Wow! What a surprise! Now Grusha will learn that he is not the only manul in the universe!😮
I wonder where Hide will live—next door to Grusha? 🤔

On Grusha’s favorite shelf with the yellow wall?
Анна, Ohhh my! Give my favorite shelf to some woolly rookie?! 😮😅
I hope Grusha will stoically survive this! 😅
What about Hide? But Hide is a boy, not a girl. We were expecting a bride for Grushik, after all 😿
l83, Ahaha, Roma said the same thing when I told him the news 😸
We wish Hide good luck in his new home! He should love Hokkaido’s snowy winters!

I hope the choice was made in favor of Hide based on the results of measuring the thickness of the warm fur coat)
So as to withstand snowy winters
Safe travels, Hide!! 💚
