Marik. Resolution of uncertainty ๐ŸŒˆ

On September 10 of this year, in the post Marik. The publication โ€œHistory of the Incidentโ€ has been finalized, I wrote:

We have all been through difficult days. Even more hard days of hope and waiting lie ahead.

This evening, news arrived that brings the difficult days of hope and waiting to a close. Marik opened the door to summer and went over the rainbow to a land of better hunting and soft little clouds.

Forgive me, cat. You were so much bigger on the inside than you were small on the outside.

And good hunting in the upper tundra!

Marik always lived in a very difficult-to-photograph enclosure.

One winter day, I was straining to reach as close as possible through the fence toward his enclosure, so that the bars would get in the way less. Then, all of a sudden, two lively, spirited, and, as it turned out, resourceful grannies came up to me and said: โ€œOh, sweetheart, just climb over the fence and take a photo!โ€ ๐Ÿ˜

    I replied: โ€œNo, I donโ€™t want to break the zoo rules.โ€

And they said to me: โ€œWeโ€™ll cover for you! No one will see!โ€ And they smiled conspiratorially ๐Ÿ˜

But I still refused. And now I think: damn, I should have agreed. It would have been a nice photo to remember him by.

But even without all the photos that never happened, I will remember you, golden-eyed Bandit ๐Ÿ’›

May you have an endless heavenly steppe, dear Marik Mievich the Elder!๐Ÿ™

I looked through the still-unsorted archives from my June trip to Novosibirsk. I pulled out a few photos of Marik. And do you know what I saw there?

HEAPS of adorable kittens. Anechka. Miyushenka. Zosyaโ€™s butt ๐Ÿคฉ Handsome, slender Zhora. Adelka the photo model. Snezhinka. Snezhanka. Gabichka. Katunka the little rascal. Damn, all of them.

Life goes on. Thank you, cat, for all the orbits around the Sun that you flew with us aboard this most comfortable spaceship. And thank you for helping us live and notice beauty even after you left the route. You got off, but we keep cutting through time and space. And loving cats. Because cats are wonderful.

Life goes on. The spaceship keeps making its rounds, the cats bask in the Sun, we love cats. Everything is fine.

    Thank you for everything, Marik.

    Oh, Marik. I am sorry.

Poor Mia has lost so many children. Marik, Bayun, their brother who never had a name, their little sister. And Ginger and Goroshinka.

I donโ€™t know why I calculated this, but in 4 years and just over three months, Marik traveled around the Sun with us for exactly 4 billion kilometers.

It was an awesome journey. Just imagineโ€”a 4-billion-kilometer trek with such an incredibly cool cat.

His little house is so shady that it will remain forever in my banditofuller-filled memory. What other little manul can boast three namesโ€”Bandit, Domovyonok, and officially, Marik?ย

l83, Oh, so I was right about the post. Back in September, they removed the stump and put up a post. I immediately thought it was for an information sign.

As I understand it, the brackets on the enclosures are for the same purpose. Theyโ€™ll nail small posts onto them, and attach information signs to those.

Marik is already part of the great Cat spirit. I'm rejoicing for him.
