Pallas's cats at work. Quality control at a catering establishment
The magnificent Pallas's cat Sylvester has been working for more than one year now at the Novosibirsk Zoo in the quality control department of the Leopard café. He is responsible for metrology on the grilled meat line (shashlik).
Every morning Sylvester gets up early to make it to his workplace on time, and carefully monitors every technological operation on the grilled meat preparation line. This is a very responsible job — the guests of the Novosibirsk Zoo count on receiving the highest-quality service when visiting what is perhaps the city’s most popular place, and the Leopard café is famous for its hospitality and coziness. Only shashlik of the very best quality can satisfy the expectations of the zoo’s guests. And Sylvester personally bears the full burden of responsibility for quality control of the shashlik in our shady café.
How wonderful that our beloved fluffballs not only delight the eye, but also bring real benefit.

I was just thinking: little Mensu could work in this department too (he also lives near the café, and his enclosure is even closer to the kebabs than Sylvester’s enclosure is), but he very rarely comes out of his little house during the day... I guess kebabs just aren’t his thing ☺️

Perhaps Mensu has been carrying out quality control on the products since early morning! :) and then sleeps all day, not even getting up for feeding :)

What a joy it was to catch him after the café closed in April. I hope the café will always close earlier than the zoo, so the little one can delight manul admirers.

l83, The zoo is now open until 10:00 p.m. (and until 11:00 p.m. on weekends), while the café closes earlier. I think they’re open until about 8 o’clock.
