It’s not easy to tell a manul kitten’s sex from its face! Once we suggested a guessing game like this to the zoo keepers who care for manuls, but even they got far from all of them right 🤓
Some manul lovers note that female kittens have smaller, more delicate faces.
Among adult manuls, it can be very easy to see (though not always) which is male and which is female: males are usually larger, with a more “masculine, rugged” expression, broad sideburns, while females have more “soft, feminine, delicate” features.
I’ve been wondering about this myself for a long time, but I read somewhere that females are more reddish, while males are more grayish; however, experience does not always confirm this.

Anechka, our beauty 🤗🥰 in a silvery coat, is an obvious exception. But overall, in the latest gender reveals for the kittens, this “on average, more in the hospital” trait is visible. Again, the question of how the color of the summer and winter coats changes with age needs to be studied.

If there are eggs, it’s a male cat.
If no eggs are visible, then it’s either a female cat, or a male cat whose eggs couldn’t be seen.
Pavel Burov, ahaha, that’s clear enough
but seriously, can you somehow tell, for example, by the face?
Tim, I think this is pure guesswork here; sometimes the cats look much more rugged than the males
Tim, I know exactly one way: to wait out the day until the gender party reveal is published.
As someone who got the last two minul reveals correct... it's just lucky guessing on my part! 😅
mnamosyna (rachael), I have an algorithm. You need to wait about 23 hours, gather the statistics, and vote against the majority.
The last two gender reveal parties were won that way 🙂
By the look and by the expression on its face. But it’s still guesswork. Especially with kittens.
