Manul Dogwhistle
I have recently seen the manul used as a facist dogwhistle to promote hateful beliefs, primarily against marginalised groups all over the globe.
I know others have seen this happening due to a TikTok video I saw https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSqEJ2wM7/ but I was wondering if any fellow manulovers have seen this…
It is very unfortunate that the beautiful animal that is the Pallas’ cat is being used to spread such hate and malice.
There are lots of concerning comments indulging in this negative manul dogwhistle, here is an example, combining it with the SS Nazi dogwhistle. The creator of the original video has also associated manuls with hurtful beliefs against marginalised racial groups as shown in the screenshot and the LGBTQ+ community in their comments

I have unfortunately seen videos in this vein on social media as of late, it is disgusting that everything must be transformed into a vessel of hatred to subvert internet censorship. From what i have seen the videos generally relate to forms of militant accelerationism and from what i personally have experienced a large majority of the videos are posted by russian accounts (or accounts using the cyrillic language). This, of course, is not to say this is exclusively a russian problem there's so many lovely russian people on this forum! i am more sad that people will see this type of content and associate russian manulovers with it. Unfortunately, all we can do is report and block and spread kindness in the name of the manul. godspeed.
tashilover, It is really tragic, and I feel for the Russian manul fans who don’t agree with these sentiments 💔 Manuls are such unique creatures and I hope the good word manulization and the manul community puts in for manuls can outweigh the negative impact that these hateful messages send. Manuls are not hateful, choose manul kindness ♡

We strongly doubt that this could have been published from Russia, because in recent years Russia has adopted new laws, and for such publications one can receive a real prison sentence.
We would very much not want manuls to be associated in any way with anything bad or to be used to incite hatred.

Вика, Oh it sounds like "dog whistle" didn't translate well. In English, it's an expression that describes words or symbols that seem innocent to the average person, but actually signal usually either racist or neonazi beliefs to other people who also share those beliefs. (Like how a dog whistle is designed to only be heard by dogs, their posts are designed to only be "heard" by other racists/neonazis.)
Although that image I don't even think counts as a dog whistle... "PalaSS cat" is just a straight up neonazi *whistle*! How dare people associate our beloved manuls with that sort of thing! 😡😡
