Daughter of Pema 2019—the loveliest Pallas's cat, who used to live in Lumigny Safari Reserve.
She was born on June 25, 2019 in Chemnitz Zoo to the family of Norbu the Pallas's cat and Pema the Pallas's cat. Read more about the travels of Daughter of Pema 2019.
Unfortunately Daughter of Pema 2019 is not with us anymore. She passed away in February of 2020, she was seven months old.
One of the biggest problems of keeping Pallas's cats in captivity is the high mortality rate among Pallas's kittens. They are most vulnerable during their first year of life. In the first year of life mortality rate among Pallas's kittens in zoos varies from 50% to 70%. In the wild mortality rate varies from 70% to 90%. Unfortunately Daughter of Pema 2019 didn't survive the first year of his life.
