Manul of the day
Todays lovely manul is the one and only Oliva!

Oliva was born on April 20, 2017 from Saitama Children's Zoo. Her parents are Lev and Shar and she was also born into the flower five. The flower five ( her siblings ) include Grusha, Iris, Lotos and Primula. All children of Lev were named with Russian plant names in honour of Lev.
Question of the day: When did you become a manulover?
All information about Oliva was gathered from the offical page for her on Manulization.

Prrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Amateur Animal Behaviorist here.. When I first heard of manuls I was curious as to how they compared to the little wild cats and house cats in behaviour. Whilst scouring the net for information I came across a video made by a group of biologist/photographers of a mom manul raising her kits in the wild. I was impressed - the camera crew managed to avoid annoying her into leaving, and she carried on professionally - I particularly liked the way she demonstrated to the kits how to catch a vole, no moves wasted! Finally when fall was setting in she simply stopped calling them when moving from one spot to another. A few times around, having shed all 5 she left the territory to them and departed ten or so kilometers to the south (where the crew finally found her to remove the tracking collar they had on her.) Ok, I was hooked!
Roman and Viki started Manulization about a year later and I've hung out here ever since! (Oh - and it looks like cat behaviour is pretty much the same regardless of species. F cattus has developed a few useful behaviours to get humans to do things, but other than that a cat is a cat. And they ALL like boxes.:))
I've always been a manulover, but when I read about how people raised Dasha from the Daursky Nature Reserve, my manulmania reached a whole new level :) I tried to find out about her later life in the reserve, but there is very little information.
Maarja Liit, All I've seen is a picture of her walking along a ridge singing, it being mating season. I've wondered ever since if she found a mate and had kittens.
I became a manul lover after I saw this TV show.

(Well, when you access this site from outside Japan, some messages might appear)
And then, this song led me to "manul swamp".
Maarja Liit, According to this Telegram post, Dasha was alive at least around 2025 and had kittens!
Maeko Ushiro, Actually, I should say that the fact that it is Dasha who was captured on the camera traps has unfortunately not been reliably confirmed. Vadim Kirilyuk thinks and very much hopes that it is her, but there is no certainty. But... this version sounds beautiful and striking, so it spread among the public as a 100% fact (I suppose that’s how legends are born, hehe☺️)
Maeko Ushiro, I adore this song! It instantly gets stuck in your head! 😄
Vika Malyshkoverified_filled ,
Oh, I see. I hope it's really her🙏
Maeko Ushiro, Same here!
