A photograph of a Pallas's cat
The Pallas’s cat picture book that arrived in my hands.

In a previous post, I reported that I had donated the picture book “WHY IS THE MANUL ANGRY?” to Asahiyama Zoo.

After that, Shitara Sumomo, one of the friends who jointly purchased the picture book, handled the procedures for donating it to the Ueno Zoo Resource Room.

Originally, she had planned to donate the picture book to Higashiyama Zoo, but after making an inquiry,

“Because few people would look at a picture book in a foreign language,”

she was apparently turned down for that reason.

So

“The procedures for using it may be more complicated than at the library corners of other facilities with Pallas’s cats, but how about donating it to the Ueno Zoo Resource Room?”

I suggested, and she agreed to take care of the procedures.

Fortunately, Ueno Zoo accepted the picture book!

Some time later, Shitara confirmed that it began appearing in searches on the Resource Room’s catalog website under “WHY IS THE MANUL ANGRY?” (the original Russian title).

Just like this.

The picture book’s title also appears under “New Arrivals” on the Resource Room homepage!

(Only the search function within the page is available in English.)

I will paste the “Usage Guide” section into this article. I think it can be translated into other languages as needed.
