Pallas Pilgrimage: Brno
Today I visited the 2nd zoo of my Pallas Pilgrimage. The Brno Zoo is quite far from the city center but easy to reach via public transport. There are still some old fashioned enclosures with metal bars (similar to Figa's enclosure in Nogeyama) but the zoo also has modern enclosures and is currently in the process of building more new enclosures.
When I first went to the manul enclosure, I couldn't spot them so I looked at some of the animals. There was a sign posted that informed the visitors of the birth date of the minuls and another sign that asked visitors to be quiet to not disturb the young manuls (similar signs were on all enclosures with young animals). I went back to the manul enclosure when I realized that some other animals had just received their breakfast and suspected, the pallas cats might have received theirs too.

The minuls were indeed snacking on some mice. Ariunaa did her best to keep an eye on all of them but that wasn't an easy job because they moved to all corners of the enclosure.

I took a bunch of photos and afterward, I went to the souvenir shop and found a pallas plushie, which I bought.
When I returned in the afternoon, Ariunaa and the minuls were resting except for one that played a bit and then went back to sleep.

I didn't want to disturb the sleeping manuls so I left after taking a few photos.
My final return to the enclosure was shortly before closing time. Because it had cooled down, the minuls were more active. Ariunaa was in an elevated position that allowed her to keep an eye on everything while still getting some well deserved rest. Being a mamanul is a hard full time job.

I am very happy with this part of the pilgrimage. While the enclosure isn't as modern as the Prague enclosures, it still has toys as enrichment (especially for the minuls) and a lot of climbing space. It was also in a shaded area which is good given the current temperatures.

Congratulations on another successful pilgrimage and thank you for all the pictures! Ariunaa is so young, but it looks like she's taking her job as mamanul very seriously! And oh, the minuls have gotten so big (and turned into fierce and ferocious hunters indeed)! 💚💚💚
How lucky you are! The little one asleep by the mushroom is absolutely adorable!
And one minun has Princess eyes, just look at that!
Great photos! Arizona's has my sympathies, considering how tiring it was to keep track of my kid once they were mobile... :)
Thanks for your report! So happy to see Ariunaa and her minuls, she's grown so much! I hope to see her again soon 🥰
helga ingvar, The minul at the mushroom played a bit with it but then got tired and went back to sleep. Absolutely adorable.
The one with the Prinsessa eyes looked at me for the longest time with those big eyes.
There was also one minul that got really close to the humans. Little kitty seemed to be interested in us humans and what we were up to.
