Mongolian laws allowing certain hunting of manuls.
In Mongolia you are allowed to hunt manuls. Though, it requires very strict legal process to hunt them and a certain seasonal time. It also allows the skin of manuls to be used as a "trophy" to show a successful hunt.
Mongolia has the most manuls out of any country, and because of the laws allowing hunting of them that threatens their survival of a species. You are allowed to hunt them for food or shelter, which is fair in rough times.
I think it's bad that the country with highest amount of manuls are being allowed to hunt these experssive and rare animals. In my eyes, it is a big problem. If you think it is a big problem, you can help me try to stop it aswell.

Reading a few articles, manul poachers are allowed to have a permit for 5 days, but the number of manuls aren't specified. Manuls, being an exotic species, are valued for their hide and meat. I think it is cruel to kill a *native* species for sport, especially if it's for black market trade. It's crazy to think that the country that named the manul is killing them! And let's consider the manuls in Iran, too, they are also at risk due to war. Programs should repel and protest this behavior, because it eliminates valuable research on the species if they're being killed for sport!
Manuls would probably migrate away from Mongolia and be forced into areas they aren't native in, which would also destroy the ecosystem. We can't force them to evolve, we only have two verified species, the Himalayan and the Mongolian manul. Ferruginous is yet to be certified by taxonomists... Manuls should die naturally, not in the forced hands of man!!!
Lynx, And I literally had a dream about this too!! A horrible nightmare where trained dogs kill manuls and are recorded for fun.... I hate to see that become a reality.

Wixty burger, Yes. From November 21 to February 10, hunting is permitted. And only with a license. But of course, no one keeps track of that.
There’s probably nothing that can be done here. The only way out is a taboo, not an official ban. But how can that be achieved?
Hmmm, while my instinct is of course to say, "No manul hunting at all!" Sometimes, it is more complicated than that.
For instance, I have no love for the millionaire who pays for some safari to hunt an elephant, but a native Alaskan slaughtering a walrus in the tradition of their ancestors, I can respect fully.
I feel like I would want to apply a similar litmus test* here. Poaching for a hide would be very bad. But hunting in the tradition of the people of the territory would be completely acceptable to me despite the tragic results as a manul fan.

I honestly don’t even know what’s in the heads and souls of those people who would ever think of hunting these wonderful creatures. How can anyone do that? I can understand hunting bears; their population needs to be controlled. But why hunt manuls? Looking at them, on the contrary, you just want to protect them, feed them
I don’t understand what century we’re living in, that we kill SPECIES LISTED IN THE RED BOOK for meat and hides—there is livestock for that, not wild animals.
