This is the ancestry background of the Japan manuls, it was calculated based off the origin country of their oldest recorded relative.

obviously manuls can not be from netherlands, so this is just for fun😻😻😻

Bol: 50% Dutch, 50% Chinese

Polly: 50% Russian, 50% Czech

Nar: 37.5% Polish, 25% Kazakh, 12.5% Russian, 12.5% Dutch, 12.5% Chinese

Lev: 50% Russian, 50% Polish

Grusha: 25% Russian, 25% Polish, 25% Dutch, 25% Chinese

Nagomu: 18.75% Polish, 18.75% Russian, 18.75% Dutch, 18.75% Chinese, 12.5% Kazakh, 12.5% Czech

A photograph of Bor, Lev, Polly, Grusha, Nar, and Nagomu
Note: The oldest recorded relative was either listed as found in the wild (hence, Chinese/Russian/Kazakh ancestry); or was listed as captive with no parents. If they were listed with no parents, it's assumed that their origin country was the country of the Zoo they were born in. (Hence, Netherlands, Czech republic)

What a fun study! So many bloodlines mixed together!

I wonder which is more numerous in the Japanese population: manul manul or manul nigripectus? Originally, there were more of the latter, but by now the former have probably displaced them.
