Shafran returns! ( late news)
Shafran Returns to Exhibit: Shafran (born April 13, 2024, to Primula and Klyon) returned to public display on September 1, 2026, taking over the enclosure previously used by Primula. Shafran previously underwent a left hind leg amputation on February 12, 2026, due to a severe fracture and osteomyelitis from birth, and recovered well after being discharged in March.

unfortunately. I went to UENO Zoo today and did not see shafran because she is getting used to her new enclosure hiding in corners and boxes.

I think Shafran-chan is stressed by people. After such a long period of treatment, she has grown unaccustomed to so many unfamiliar people. But she is such a fighter, just like her mother Primula, and I really hope Shafran will settle in!
And I think she is so wonderful and such a clever girl that she is sure to find admirers!
So, of the entire Tokyo manul diaspora, only the stronger half is working at the moment: Grandpa Naim and Dad Klyon. Mama Primula is on sick leave, while daughter Shafran is still only an intern.
